One Direction Borong Piala Di MTV Video Music Awards 2012

MTV Video Music Awards, salah satu Acara penganugerahan musik terbesar yang diselenggarakan MTV, kembali diadakan tahun ini di Staples Center Los Angeles (6/9) waktu setempat.

Penghargaan tahunan yang rutin diberikan oleh MTV setiap tahunnya sejak tahun 1984 ini, memberikan apresiasi terhadap video-video musik terbaik yang ditayangkan di channel ini sepanjang tahun.

Tahun ini ternyata piala terbanyak diborong oleh boyband yang sedang digandrungi oleh remaja diseluruh dunia saat ini, One Direction.

One Direction menjadi peraih piala terbanyak tahun ini dengan membawa pulang 3 piala untuk kategori Best New Artist, Best Pop Video, termasuk kategori Most Share-Worthy Video.

Tak heran sebab video "What makes you beautiful" di channel resmi Youtube dari One Direction sendiri hingga kini sudah ditonton sebanyak lebih dari 227 Juta kali.

Sementara untuk kategori Video of the Year, dimenangkan oleh penyanyi wanita sensasional Rihanna lewat video musik fenomenalnya yang berjudul "We Found Love".

Selain itu, kejutan juga hadir di pemenang kategori "Best Male Video" yang ternyata tidak dimenangkan oleh Justin Bieber seperti yang banyak diprediksikan. Piala bergensi tersebut jatuh ketangan Chris Brown lewat video klipnya "Turn Up The Music".

Sepertinya karir bermusik Bieber memang terbilang cukup 'merosot' di tahun ini.
